FAQ

What is Vedic Astrology?

The Eastern Vedic system of astrology is an ancient and highly accurate modality for spiritual insight. This lesser known language of nature does not take the place of your Western birth chart, although most agree that its insights are far more specific. It elaborates on the deeper essence of your human experience, purpose, relationships and karma. The Western birth chart tells how one’s identity and relationships feel, while the Eastern birth chart tells about the deeper reasons for these experiences – the places your soul has been before and what your current incarnation is here to teach you.

What can I learn from my chart and how accurate is it?

The chart covers every area of life, from personal identity, family, friendship and partnership to career, purpose, upheavals, challenges and timing of events. There are few questions the birth chart cannot answer. However, information from your birth chart primarily serves the purpose of empowering your sense of personal choice and free will. Results are best understood as high probabilities rather than absolute certainties. Most astrological indicators follow a seven out of ten rule — the indicator will be correct in the majority of cases (70% to 90% accuracy).

How is my Vedic birth chart different from my Western birth chart?

Vedic astrology is one of the oldest preserved forms of astrology, originating over 3500 years ago in Ancient India. It has slowly developed into today’s time-tested Eastern system for birth chart interpretation. What’s special about it is its level of depth and empirical (real-life verifiable) accuracy. This greater depth comes from the fact that Vedic birth charts are based on what the astronomical sky looks like, which to many’s surprise, is not the case for the astrology most are familiar with (Western/tropical astrology). Vedic birth charts tap into the deeper essence of the soul’s purpose, lessons, and karma, while Western birth charts tend to ring true to the individual’s identity and self perception. The intricacies and prominent use-cases for Vedic astrology are not yet widely discussed in the modern Western world or in the general zeitgeist of astrology.
